Everything you need to know to get started in fusing glass.  Class will cover fusing glass, kiln operation and firing schedules.  Students will take home a pendant, plate and candle holder.

Frits and Powders

Are you ready to discover new worlds in fusing glass? Move from flat, off the shelf color to making textures, patterns, and lines in this survey on the use of frits and powders. The class will explore the many possibilities of using this unique technique in your own work. Students will take home a set of sample tiles to use for reference in future work.

It's a Pattern Bar BABY!

This class will cover three types of pattern bars using geometric and organic designs. Students will learn the process of designing, building, and damming a pattern bar. The class will cover sandblasting, the use of the tile saw, strip cutting and cold working the final piece. Standard firing schedules and high-fire schedules will be used and you will be making your own murini in the hot shop. Students will take home an 8” x 8” tray and any remaining pattern bar components.

Making Multiples Using Silicon Molds

This class will cover the basics of making silicon molds of objects and designs and casting them in glass. Casting found materials as well as an introduction to lost wax casting will be explored.
